LIVING ROOM

The main highlights on how to operate the main aspects of our living room.

  • Our living room is equipped with a Samsung Smart TV, offering access to free-to-air TV and a variety of smart apps. Below are the instructions for using the TV.

    You’ll find a single smart remote with a red symbol in the top left corner—press it to turn on the TV.

    To navigate between options (free-to-air and apps), use the Home button, which has a house symbol, located just below the main selection button.

    To select an app, scroll along the bottom row and press the middle button.

    Please note that we do not provide Netflix or other accounts; you'll need to log into your own accounts.

    Remember to log out before departure. Getawayz NSW is not responsible for any additional charges if you forget to log out.

  • The cottage features a Samsung air conditioning unit for your comfort. Please turn it off when you're not at home.

    • To turn it on, press the red power button. The screen will display the current temperature.

    • To adjust the temperature, use the "+" or "-" buttons—press the up arrow to increase or the down arrow to decrease.

    • To change the mode, press the "Mode" button until the desired mode appears.

    • To adjust the fan speed, use the arrows—press the up arrow to increase or the down arrow to decrease the speed.

  • To turn on the ceiling fan, you'll find five buttons to the right of the entrance door.

    • Press the one located at the bottom right.

    • There is no remote control to adjust the speed, as the fan is set to a single mode.

    • To turn it off, press the same button again.

  • You are welcome to use the fireplace. We provide the firewood, which can be found to the left of the garage of the main house. Please ensure you take the necessary precautions when using the fireplace and kindly remember to turn off the fire if you leave the cottage.

KITCHEN

Our kitchen is well stocked and comes with all the utensils you need to cook meals at home! We ask that you take good care of any of the items in the kitchen. We know mistakes can happen, so if anything breaks, please let us know so we can replace these for you and/or our next guests!

  • To use the stove, please ensure it is plugged in. Turn the knobs to set your desired cooking temperature. After use, kindly check that the electric stove is turned off.

  • Every Getawayz home is equipped with a Nespresso machine and milk frother. Complimentary coffee pods are provided for your visit.

    When using the Nespresso machine:

    • Ensure the machine has adequate water, and is turned on at the powerpoint.

    • There are buttons to make different sized coffees on the top of the machine. After turning the machine on, these buttons will flash until the machine is ready for use.

    • When ready, place the pod in the machine and pull the silver latch down. Then press the button corresponding to your desired size of coffee.

    • Please regularly empty out the discarded pods from the machine.

    If you prefer milk in your coffee, we request that you supply your own milk for your visit.

  • This property is equipped with an OMEGA dishwasher. Dishwashing tablets, liquid, or powder will be provided.

    To operate the dishwasher:

    • Press the power button on the far right to turn it on.

    • To select your desired mode, press the "Programm" button. The different programs are listed on the left. Continue pressing the button to select the program you want.

    • To start the dishwasher, press the Start/Pause button on the far right.

    On departure, please use the “Rapid” cycle. Our housekeeping & styling specialists will greatly appreciate this!

  • It is simple to use by pressing one of the buttons on the right side panel, where you can choose the programme that you want, such as defrosting, softening, melting, etc. Press one of those, then click the Start button to start it.

Home Utilities & Services

In this section, we provide detailed information about the various utilities and services available for your convenience and comfort during your stay. From essential services to general safety facilities, you'll find everything you need to make your stay enjoyable and hassle-free.

  • Please note that there is no washer and dryer in the home. However, the nearest laundromat is located in Mona Vale. Alternatively, you can take advantage of Jim's Laundry, a convenient pick-up and delivery service directly from your front door. |

  • The fuse box at this property is located on the wall in the bathroom.

    If the power is not working, please check the fuses in the fuse box and flick all on if one of the fuses has blown or been switched off.

    If all the switches are on, this is most likely a local power outage and there is nothing Getawayz can do to rectify the issue (as much as we would like to help)! We would highly recommend downloading the app “power outages NSW” and checking this.

    If there is not a local outage and you are still receiving issues, please contact the Getawayz NSW Operations Manager Louis on 0411 870 991. For any issues after 9pm, we will attend first thing in the morning, if power is not returned to the home.

  • We ask that all guests appropriately dispose of their garbage, and sort waste materials appropriately when removing trash from the home.

    The bins for our home are located on the right-hand side of the property when viewed from the street.

    The outdoor garbage bins are color-coded as follows:

    • Red lid: General waste

    • Yellow lid: Commingled recycling (glass, plastic, metal, and paper)

    • Blue lid: Paper and cardboard recycling only

    • Green lid: Vegetation waste

  • FIRE

    Getawayz NSW prioritizes the safety of our guests and conducts regular fire safety inspections in all our properties.

    To ensure safety, kindly adhere to our strict 'no-smoking' policy within the house premises.

    For emergencies, there is a fire extinguisher located and fire blanket underneath the sink. If used, please inform Getawayz NSW immediately.

    In the event of a fire, please first ensure the safety of all guests and then promptly call the fire department at +000 using your phone.

    Your safety is our top priority, so please report any near misses or incidents to us. Your cooperation is appreciated.

  • Getawayz NSW has staff available 7 days a week, from 8am - 9pm.

    • Alternatively, you can contact us via your booking platform.

    Any contact outside of business hours will be responded to from 8am onwards, the next day of business.

    Please note that we take all inquiries from guests very seriously, and do our best to respond in a timely manner.
