Welcome To NEWTOWN HOUSE

Thank you for choosing to stay at “Newtown House” . The Getawayz NSW Team welcomes you into our home, and hope you enjoy your stay!

For any queries throughout your stay, please contact us, and include the property code “SYD021” in your message. You can reach us at guests@getawayz.com.au, or via your booking platform.

We have provided you with a detailed manual, specific to this home. You will also find our house rules attached.

House Rules

LIVING ROOM

The main highlights on how to operate the main aspects of our living room.

  • The Wi-Fi router is located in the living room.

    The details can be found below:

  • Our living room has a Sony Smart TV that offers free-to-air channels and various smart apps. Here's how to use it:

    • The TV is controlled with a single smart remote. To turn on the TV, press the green symbol in the top right corner of the remote.

    • To navigate between free-to-air TV and apps, press the Home button (the house symbol) located just below the main selection button.

    • To choose an app, scroll along the bottom row and press the middle button to select.

    Please note, we do not provide Netflix or other accounts, so you'll need to log into your own accounts.

    Remember to log out before you leave. Getawayz NSW is not responsible for any charges if you forget to log out.

  • The apartment is equipped with a Mitsubishi air conditioning unit to ensure your comfort throughout your stay. We kindly ask that you turn it off when you're not home.

    To turn the system on, press the button in the top right corner. The screen will display the current set temperature.

    To adjust the temperature, use the arrows in the middle—press the up arrow to increase or the down arrow to decrease the temperature.

    To change the mode, press the button located in the top left corner. Keep pressing until you select your desired mode.

    To adjust the fan speed, press the button labeled "FAN SPEED." Continue pressing until you reach your preferred speed.

  • One of the standout features of our living and dining room is the fireplace, which adds both coziness and character to the space. This beautiful feature enhances the ambiance of your stay, but please note that it is purely decorative and should not be used for actual fires. The same applies to the fireplace in the master bedroom, which is also a decorative element.

  • The home has 2 flights of stairs (24 steps) to reach the second floor.

KITCHEN

Our kitchen is well stocked and comes with all the utensils you need to cook meals at home! We ask that you take good care of any of the items in the kitchen. We know mistakes can happen, so if anything breaks, please let us know so we can replace these for you and/or our next guests!

  • Introducing our easy-to-use gas oven with simple controls!

    On the right side, you'll find a knob to set the timer. *Please note, the timer must be set for the oven to function.

    The first knob controls the temperature – just turn it to choose your desired heat. These intuitive controls make cooking a breeze.

    The middle knob allows you to adjust the temperature according to your needs.

    GAS STOVE

    Our main home is equipped with a 5-burner gas stove that's incredibly easy to use.

    To operate, simply press and hold the knob while turning it to the left to reach your desired heat level.

    When finished, ensure the knob is turned all the way to the right to prevent any gas leakage.

  • Every Getawayz home is equipped with a Nespresso machine and milk frother. Complimentary coffee pods are provided for your visit.

    When using the Nespresso machine:

    • Ensure the machine has adequate water, and is turned on at the powerpoint.

    • There are buttons to make different sized coffees on the top of the machine. After turning the machine on, these buttons will flash until the machine is ready for use.

    • When ready, place the pod in the machine and pull the silver latch down. Then press the button corresponding to your desired size of coffee.

    • Please regularly empty out the discarded pods from the machine.

    If you prefer milk in your coffee, we request that you supply your own milk for your visit.

  • Pre-Departure Task:

    Ensure all dishes and kitchen items are run in the dishwasher before departure.

    Dishwashing Tablets:

    Ample dishwashing tablets will be provided by the Getawayz NSW team. If running low, please inform them for replacement before the arrival of the next guests.

    Turning On the Dishwasher:

    Locate the on/off button on the left-hand side of the dishwasher door. Hold down the on/off button for a few seconds to turn on the dishwasher.

    Program Selection:

    Next to the LED display, you will find the "V" button for selecting the program.

    Choose the program by referring to the symbols above the dishwasher.

    Then press the start button on the right side to launch it!

  • It is simple to use by pressing one of the buttons on the right side panel, where you can choose the programme that you want, such as defrosting, softening, melting, etc. Press one of those, then click the Start button to start it.

  • To have water and ice served by the fridge, you need to fill the "BPA FREE" tray located on the right side of the fridge.

Home Utilities & Services

In this section, we provide detailed information about the various utilities and services available for your convenience and comfort during your stay. From essential services to general safety facilities, you'll find everything you need to make your stay enjoyable and hassle-free.

  • To enhance your comfort, each room is equipped with either an air conditioning unit or a portable air conditioner.

    To use the Air Conditioning Unit:

    • To turn the system on, press the button in the top right corner. The screen will display the current set temperature.

    • To adjust the temperature, use the arrows in the middle—press the up arrow to increase the temperature or the down arrow to decrease it.

    • To change the mode, press the button in the top left corner. Keep pressing until you select your desired mode.

    • To adjust the fan speed, press the button labeled "FAN SPEED." Continue pressing until you reach your preferred speed.

    To use the Portable Air Conditioner:

    • Plug in the portable air conditioner.

    • On top of the AC, you’ll find a panel with buttons. Press the "Power" button to turn on the AC.

    • Select your desired mode, then adjust the temperature or fan speed using the arrows.

  • WASHING MACHINE

    Our home includes a Fisher & Paykel washing machine and dryer for your convenience during your stay. Here's how to use the washing machine and the dryer:

    • Add washing powder or detergent to the tray on the left and close it.

    • Press the power button on the left side of the knob to turn the machine on or off. The screen will light up when it’s on.

    • Turn the knob in the middle to select your preferred washing program.

    • Adjust options like wash temperature, water level, and spin speed using the buttons on the right side of the panel.

    • Press the "START/PAUSE" button to start the washing cycle.

    DRYER

    To use the dryer:

    • Press the power button on the left side of the knob to turn the machine on or off. The screen will light up when it’s on.

    • Turn the knob in the middle to select your preferred drying program.

    • Adjust options like temperature and dryness level using the buttons on the right side of the panel.

    • Press the "START/PAUSE" button to start the drying cycle.

  • The fuse box at this property is located outside on the wall directly opposite, next to the front door.

    If the power is not working, please check the fuses in the fuse box and flick all on if one of the fuses has blown or been switched off.

    If all the switches are on, this is most likely a local power outage and there is nothing Getawayz can do to rectify the issue (as much as we would like to help)! We would highly recommend downloading the app “power outages NSW” and checking this.

    If there is not a local outage and you are still receiving issues, please contact the Getawayz NSW Operations Manager Louis on 0411 870 991. For any issues after 9pm, we will attend first thing in the morning, if power is not returned to the home.

  • We kindly ask all guests to dispose of their garbage properly and separate waste materials as required when removing trash from the home.

    The bins are located on the left side of the house when facing it. To access them, unlock the gate using the key provided with the house keys to open the padlock.

    The outdoor bins are color-coded for your convenience:

    • Red lid: General waste

    • Yellow lid: Recyclables

    • Green lid: Garden vegetation

    Bins are collected on Friday mornings. If you’re staying on a Friday, please place the bins on the street Thursday evening and return them after collection. If you’re checking out on Thursday, our housekeeping team will handle this for you.

  • FIRE

    Getawayz NSW prioritizes the safety of our guests and conducts regular fire safety inspections in all our properties.

    To ensure safety, kindly adhere to our strict 'no-smoking' policy within the house premises.

    For emergencies, there is a fire extinguisher located and fire blanket underneath the sink. If used, please inform Getawayz NSW immediately.

    In the event of a fire, please first ensure the safety of all guests and then promptly call the fire department at +000 using your phone.

    Your safety is our top priority, so please report any near misses or incidents to us. Your cooperation is appreciated.

    The home has one security camera facing the front entrance to the left of the front door. This is for the safety of our guests and the property.

  • Getawayz NSW has staff available 7 days a week, from 8am - 9pm.

    • Please email us at guests@getawayz.com.au for any enquiries during business hours.

    • Alternatively, you can contact us via your booking platform.

    Any contact outside of business hours will be responded to from 8am onwards, the next day of business.

    Please note that we take all inquiries from guests very seriously, and do our best to respond in a timely manner.
