Thank you for choosing to stay at The Mist Cottage. The Getawayz NSW Team welcomes you into our home, and hope you enjoy your stay!

For any queries throughout your stay, please contact us, and include the property code “SHC026” in your message. You can reach us at guests@getawayz.com.au, or via your booking platform.

We have provided you with a detailed manual, specific to this home. You will also find our house rules attached.

LIVING ROOM

Upon entering, you’ll step into our open-plan dining, kitchen, and living area. Below are the key instructions for operating the main features of the living room.

  • Network Name: Airbnb Wifi

    Password: Airbnb123

  • Our living room features a Hisense Smart TV with access to free-to-air channels and various streaming apps.

    Operating the TV:

    • Use the smart remote (with a red symbol in the top left corner) to turn the TV on/off.

    • Press the Home button (house symbol) to navigate between free-to-air TV and apps.

    • Select apps by scrolling along the bottom row and pressing the middle button. Quick-access buttons for Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, and Google Play are also available.

    Important Notes:

    • Personal accounts required for streaming services; we do not provide login credentials.

    • Log out before departure Getawayz NSW is not responsible for any charges if accounts remain logged in.

  • Our living, dining, and bedrooms are equipped with Fujitsu ducted air conditioning for your comfort. Please turn it off when you are not home.

    How to Use:

    • The control screen is on the living room wall near the iPad.

    • Press the bottom right button to turn the system on; the screen will display the set temperature.

    • Adjust the temperature using the up/down arrows.

    • Change the mode by pressing the “MODE” button (top left) until you reach your preference.

    • Adjust fan speed using the “FAN” button.

    • For advanced settings (quick start, scheduling, etc.), access the main menu by pressing the center arrow on the panel.

  • You are welcome to use the fireplace. Firewood is provided.

    For safety, please take all necessary precautions when using the fireplace and ensure the fire is fully extinguished before leaving the cottage.

KITCHEN

Our home comes with a fully equipped kitchen which is perfect for family meals when you feel like staying in. Here you will find the main highlights on how to operate our kitchen.

    • To turn the oven ON or OFF, press the Power button located on the far left.

    • Select the desired cooking mode by pressing the three lines icon.

    • Adjust the temperature using the display controls.

    • To activate or deactivate the Fast Heat Up function, press the corresponding button at the bottom right of the display.

    • Press Start on the display to begin cooking.

  • Our gas stove is operated by dials for easy use.

    How to Use:

    • Press, hold, and turn left to adjust the flame.

    • After cooking, turn the knob fully to the right to ensure the gas is completely off.

  • Every Getawayz home is equipped with a Nespresso machine and milk frother. Complimentary coffee pods are provided for your visit.

    When using the Nespresso machine:

    • Ensure the machine has adequate water, and is turned on at the powerpoint.

    • There are buttons to make different sized coffees on the top of the machine. After turning the machine on, these buttons will flash until the machine is ready for use.

    • When ready, place the pod in the machine and pull the silver latch down. Then press the button corresponding to your desired size of coffee.

    • Please regularly empty out the discarded pods from the machine.

    If you prefer milk in your coffee, we request that you supply your own milk for your visit.

  • Our home features an AEG dishwasher for your convenience. Please run a dishwasher cycle with all used dishes and kitchen items before departure.

    How to Use:

    • Open the dishwasher and press the "Power" button (far left).

    • Select your preferred wash cycle using the buttons on the right.

    • Place a dishwashing tablet in the compartment.

    • Close the dishwasher to start the cycle.

    For departure, please use the "Fast" cycle—our housekeeping team appreciates it! If dishwashing tablets are running low, let us know, and we’ll restock for the next guests.

  • You will find the CHIQ washer/dryer combo machine in the cupboard on the far left of the kitchen. Getawayz NSW provides laundry detergent for the duration of your stay.

    1. Press and hold the POWER button on the far top left side to turn the power on and off.

    2. Then press the PROGRAM buttom underneath the power button to select the desired washing program. The programs are indicated along the bottom of the screen. The corresponding program indicator will flash and the display in the middle will show the duration time of the selected program.

    3. Long press the START/PAUSE button on the far top right side to start or pause the wash cycle.

    4. *To add clothes while the cycle is in progress, long press the PAUSE button. If the DOOR LOCK symbol is not illuminated, the door may be opened. Press the START button to start the cycle again.

    5. To dry the clothes press the DRYING button to select the type and time as needed. This will be displayed in the middle.

other amenities

Our home is full of all the amenities that you, your friends family and your chosen family could ask for. Below we have listed the other amenities available for you and your family to use throughout your stay!

  • To turn on the gas bottle, simply open the valve.

    To light the BBQ, press and turn the knobs to ignite the flame.

    We provide a gas bottle that will be connected for you during your stay. If you replace the gas, please inform Getawayz NSW so we can arrange a replacement after your departure.

    Please ensure the gas is turned off after each use.

  • Getawayz NSW provides firewood for your use.

    Please ensure fires are built responsibly and avoid using the fireplace during extremely hot, dry, or windy conditions.

    Never leave a fire unattended.

    Fires must not be lit if a total fire ban is in effect, as mandated by local authorities. Please check current fire restrictions before use.

  • Getawayz NSW ensures that all properties are equipped with working fire alarms and undergo regular fire safety inspections.

    To minimize fire risks, please use the rangehood while cooking and adhere to the no-smoking house rule.

    A fire extinguisher and fire blanket are located under the sink for emergencies. If either is used, please inform Getawayz NSW so we can replace it.

    In the event of a fire, prioritize the safety of all guests and immediately call 000 for emergency assistance.

    We also encourage you to report any near misses or incidents—your safety is our top priority!

  • The fuse box for this property is located outside, behind the cottage, opposite the main entrance door.

    In case of a power outage, please check the fuse box:

    • If any switches are in the ‘off’ position, flip them back to the ‘on’ position.

    • If all switches are on and the issue persists, it is likely an external power supply issue.

    Unfortunately, there is nothing Getawayz NSW can do to rectify external power outages.

    We would recommend either:

    Using the Endevour Energy website to check for any known outages in the area.

    If there is not a local outage and you are still experiencing issues, please contact the Getawayz NSW on 0480 801 294. For any issues after 9pm, we will attend first thing in the morning, if power is not returned to the home.

  • We ask that all guests appropriately dispose of their garbage, and sort waste materials appropriately when removing trash from the home.

    The bins for the property are located in front of the cottage.

    Please place the red and yellow bins in front of the property gate on Sunday night. Waste collection occurs every Monday morning.

    The outdoor garbage bins are color-coded as follows:

    • Red lid: General waste

    • Yellow lid: Commingled recycling (glass, plastic, metal, and paper)

  • Getawayz NSW has staff available 7 days a week, from 8am - 9pm.

    • Please email us at guests@getawayz.com.au for any enquiries during business hours.

    • Alternatively, you can contact us via your booking platform.

    • For issues during your stay, please call us on 0480 801 294.

    Any contact outside of business hours will be responded to from 8am onwards, the next day of business.

    Please note that we take all inquiries from guests very seriously, and do our best to respond in a timely manner.
