Thank you for choosing to stay at The Mist Cottage. The Getawayz NSW Team welcomes you into our home, and hope you enjoy your stay!

We have provided you with a detailed manual, specific to this home. You will also find our house rules attached.

House Rules

LIVING ROOM

Upon entering, you’ll step into our open-plan dining, kitchen, and living area. Below are the key instructions for operating the main features of the living room.

  • Network Name: Airbnb Wifi

    Password: Airbnb123

  • Our living room features a Hisense Smart TV with access to free-to-air channels and various streaming apps.

    Operating the TV:

    • Use the smart remote (with a red symbol in the top left corner) to turn the TV on/off.

    • Press the Home button (house symbol) to navigate between free-to-air TV and apps.

    • Select apps by scrolling along the bottom row and pressing the middle button. Quick-access buttons for Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video, and Google Play are also available.

    Important Notes:

    • Personal accounts required for streaming services; we do not provide login credentials.

    • Log out before departure Getawayz NSW is not responsible for any charges if accounts remain logged in.

  • Our living, dining, and bedrooms are equipped with Fujitsu ducted air conditioning for your comfort. Please turn it off when you are not home.

    How to Use:

    • The control screen is on the living room wall near the iPad.

    • Press the bottom right button to turn the system on; the screen will display the set temperature.

    • Adjust the temperature using the up/down arrows.

    • Change the mode by pressing the “MODE” button (top left) until you reach your preference.

    • Adjust fan speed using the “FAN” button.

    • For advanced settings (quick start, scheduling, etc.), access the main menu by pressing the center arrow on the panel.

  • You are welcome to use the fireplace. Firewood is provided.

    For safety, please take all necessary precautions when using the fireplace and ensure the fire is fully extinguished before leaving the cottage.

KITCHEN

Our home comes with a fully equipped kitchen which is perfect for family meals when you feel like staying in. Here you will find the main highlights on how to operate our kitchen.

    • To turn the oven ON or OFF, press the Power button located on the far left.

    • Select the desired cooking mode by pressing the three lines icon.

    • Adjust the temperature using the display controls.

    • To activate or deactivate the Fast Heat Up function, press the corresponding button at the bottom right of the display.

    • Press Start on the display to begin cooking.

  • Our gas stove is operated by dials for easy use.

    How to Use:

    • Press, hold, and turn left to adjust the flame.

    • After cooking, turn the knob fully to the right to ensure the gas is completely off.

  • Every Getawayz home is equipped with a Nespresso machine and milk frother. Complimentary coffee pods are provided for your visit.

    When using the Nespresso machine:

    • Ensure the machine has adequate water, and is turned on at the powerpoint.

    • There are buttons to make different sized coffees on the top of the machine. After turning the machine on, these buttons will flash until the machine is ready for use.

    • When ready, place the pod in the machine and pull the silver latch down. Then press the button corresponding to your desired size of coffee.

    • Please regularly empty out the discarded pods from the machine.

    If you prefer milk in your coffee, we request that you supply your own milk for your visit.

  • Our home features an AEG dishwasher for your convenience. Please run a dishwasher cycle with all used dishes and kitchen items before departure.

    How to Use:

    • Open the dishwasher and press the "Power" button (far left).

    • Select your preferred wash cycle using the buttons on the right.

    • Place a dishwashing tablet in the compartment.

    • Close the dishwasher to start the cycle.

    For departure, please use the "Fast" cycle—our housekeeping team appreciates it! If dishwashing tablets are running low, let us know, and we’ll restock for the next guests.

  • Please do not place anything hot directly on the wooden table to avoid damage.

  • The home comes with a Haier Washing Machine and Westinghouse Dryer for your laundry needs. Please see the instructions below on how to use these.

    Haier Washing Machine:

    1. The detergent and softener drawer is on the far left hand side.

    2. Getawayz NSW will provide you with washing powder for you to use.

    3. To turn on the machine, just turn the knob on the far right-hand side to your desired programme.

    4. You can also adjust further settings by using the buttons underneath the display screens:

      • Temp.: Touch to select washing temperature.

      • Spin Speed: Touch to select different speeds.

      • Soak: Touch to select soak function.

      • Eco: Touch to select energy saving mode.

      • Delay: Touch to select to delay the start time of the cycle.

    5. Then press the START/PAUSE button.

    6. Please refer to the User Manual for more information.

    Westinghouse Dryer:

    1. Always ensure the lint filter inside the dryer door is cleaed out before starting a new load.

    2. Load up the dryer with damp clothes, but no more than 2/3 full. The clothes need to be able to tumble freely.

    3. First choose the temperature control:

      • Half sun sign is “Warm”. For delicate items that can shrink

      • Full sun sign is “Hot”. For Heavy durable items.

    4. Then turn the knob on the to the right to choose the time you want to tumble dry for. Only turn the knob clockwise (to the right)

    5. To turn on the machine, the safety button on the door handle needs to be pressed inwards.

Our home is full of all the amenities that you, your friends family and your chosen family could ask for. Below we have listed the other amenities available for you and your family to use throughout your stay!

  • Enjoy your own private hot tub, perfect for unwinding and relaxing during your stay.

    Spa Use Instructions

    • Use the control panel’s Up and Down arrows to scroll through the options: Time, WTMP (water temperature), and STMP (set temperature).

    • STMP (Set Temperature)
      Displays the current set temperature. Press OK, then use the arrow buttons to adjust the temperature. Press OK again to confirm.

    • WTMP (Water Temperature)
      Shows the current water temperature.

    • Time
      Displays the current time.

    • Jets
      Use the top-right button on the control pad to cycle through the jet settings: Auto → Low → High → Off.

    • Lights
      Use the light button on the control pad to turn the internal spa light on or off.

    Please remember to turn off the jets after use.

  • The first bedroom:

    The window blinds on the left side of the bed is automatic and uses the white remote.

    The other window blinds on the right-side are manual blinds and have cords to open and close the blinds.

    The secon bedroom:

    The only window blind in the room is automatic and uses the white remote.

    For the blinds remotes, just press the up and down arrows to open or close the blinds.

    You can press the middle stop button if you wish to have the blinds half closed.

  • Meet Mowgli, our robot mower. He's continually mowing the grass around the cottage during daylight hours. He has object avoidance, so he won't bump into you or anything else. If he's bothering you, please don't press the emergency stop. Instead, press Home and OK on his control panel, and he'll head back to his charging station on his own.

    Occasionally Mowgli may get stuck or just stop in the middle of the field. If you feel like helping, please first check whether he's caught on something and free him if so. Then hold down the power button to turn him back on, wait until he asks for a PIN code, and press OK four times to enter 0000. Once he's awake, press Home and OK to send him back to charge.

  • To turn on the gas bottle, simply open the valve.

    To light the BBQ, press and turn the knobs to ignite the flame.

    We provide a gas bottle that will be connected for you during your stay. If you replace the gas, please inform Getawayz NSW so we can arrange a replacement after your departure.

    Please ensure the gas is turned off after each use.

  • Getawayz NSW provides firewood for your use.

    Please ensure fires are built responsibly and avoid using the fireplace during extremely hot, dry, or windy conditions.

    Never leave a fire unattended.

    Fires must not be lit if a total fire ban is in effect, as mandated by local authorities. Please check current fire restrictions before use.

  • Getawayz NSW ensures that all properties are equipped with working fire alarms and undergo regular fire safety inspections.

    To minimize fire risks, please use the rangehood while cooking and adhere to the no-smoking house rule.

    A fire extinguisher and fire blanket are located under the sink for emergencies. If either is used, please inform Getawayz NSW so we can replace it.

    In the event of a fire, prioritize the safety of all guests and immediately call 000 for emergency assistance.

    We also encourage you to report any near misses or incidents—your safety is our top priority!

  • The fuse box for this property is located outside, behind the cottage, opposite the main entrance door.

    In case of a power outage, please check the fuse box:

    • If any switches are in the ‘off’ position, flip them back to the ‘on’ position.

    • If all switches are on and the issue persists, it is likely an external power supply issue.

    Unfortunately, there is nothing Getawayz NSW can do to rectify external power outages.

    We would recommend either:

    Using the Endevour Energy website to check for any known outages in the area.

    If there is not a local outage and you are still experiencing issues, please contact the Getawayz NSW on 0480 801 294. For any issues after 9pm, we will attend first thing in the morning, if power is not returned to the home.

  • We ask that all guests appropriately dispose of their garbage, and sort waste materials appropriately when removing trash from the home.

    The bins for the property are located in front of the cottage.

    Please place the red and yellow bins in front of the property gate on Sunday night. Waste collection occurs every Monday morning.

    The outdoor garbage bins are color-coded as follows:

    • Red lid: General waste

    • Yellow lid: Commingled recycling (glass, plastic, metal, and paper)

  • Getawayz NSW has staff available 7 days a week, from 8am - 9pm.

    • Please email us at guests@getawayz.com.au for any enquiries during business hours.

    • Alternatively, you can contact us via your booking platform.

    • For issues during your stay, please call us on 0480 801 294.

    Any contact outside of business hours will be responded to from 8am onwards, the next day of business.

    Please note that we take all inquiries from guests very seriously, and do our best to respond in a timely manner.
