Thank you for choosing to stay at the Highgate House. The Getawayz NSW Team welcomes you into our home, and hope you enjoy your stay!

We have provided you with a detailed manual, specific to this home. You will also find our house rules attached.

LIVING ROOM

Welcome to the enchanting world of Highgate House, where elegance meets comfort. Upon stepping inside, you'll be captivated by the grandeur of our soaring ceilings and a unique fireplace, creating an awe-inspiring ambiance in the main area.

  • Our home comes with high speed wifi, perfect for streaming your favourite shows and sports! The details can be found below:

  • Our Home comes with a power ducted system for heating . It’s perfect for the chilly Winter nights.

    The location of the switch for the ducted system is located on the left hand wall in the hallway on the main floor just past the Queen bed room. It’s the control system with the dial and the LED screen.

    Operating the system is very easy, please see the instructions below:

    • The top button will turn on the system, with the LED screen going slightly blue to indicate this is on.

    • The dial at the bottom of the system will allow you to turn the temperature either up or down. To see the temperature you have set, you can locate this at the top of the screen.

    • The blue button with “M” on it will indicate the modes you have selected (heat, cool, dry, etc).

    We ask that you turn off the ducted system when leaving our home for long periods of time. The system is extremely efficient and only takes around 10 minutes to perfectly heat our home!

  • Our living room comes with a 75 INCH LG Smart TV which has access to free to air TV as well as an abundance of smart apps. Please see the instructions below on how to operate the TV.

    • There is once smart remote to operate the TV. The remote has a red symbol in the top left corner, this will turn the tv on/off.

    • When turning on the TV, the main way to navigate between the different options (free to air and the applications) is through the Home button that has a house symbol, located top right of the main selection button.

    • To select between different applications simply scroll along the bottom row and press the middle button to select as well as there being Netflix, Youtube, Prime video and google play buttons underneath the main selection buttons.

      Please note we do not provide any Netflix or other accounts, you will need to log into your own accounts for use

      Please always remember to log out on departure. Getawayz NSW is not responsible for any additional bills or payments made on your account if you forget to log out.

  • One of the highlights and centrepieces of our living room is the slow-burning combustion fireplace.

    We do not supply firewood for the home, however, there is Coles in Bowral which is a 5-minute drive away where you can purchase firewood, fire starters as well as matches and or a lighter.

    We kindly ask that you do not remove the ash from the fireplace throughout your stay, if you can simply re-set a new fire on top of this. Our housekeeping and styling team will look after this during the changeover.

KITCHEN

Our home comes with a fully equipped kitchen which is perfect for family meals when you feel like staying in. Here you will find the main highlights on how to operate our kitchen.

  • The tap at the kitchen sink is a smart tap and touch sensitive and battery operated.

    The switch at the nozzle is for the spray. If the tap does not work, you will need to change the batteries under the sink at the back of the cupboard. Just slide down the pack, and the batteries will come out at the top.

    The extra batteries are located in the laundry cupboard in the cabinet above the sink.

  • Our main home comes with a Smeg oven which is perfect for home cooked meals. The two knobs on the far left are for the oven. Please see the instructions below on how to use the oven.

    • The knob on the far Left operates the oven. This is to set the oven to the setting in which you wish to cook. For example, fan force, grill, oven grill, bake, etc.

    • The knob on the middle left operates the bottom oven temperature. Turn the knob to the desired temperature to heat up the oven.

  • Our main home comes with a 6-burner gas stove that is extremely easy to use and operate.

    • In order to use this, simply hold the knob down and turn to the left to get the desired heat level you are after

    • Once done, please make sure the knob is back to the right as far as possible to make sure gas doesn’t leak

  • Our home comes with an AEG Dishwasher. We ask that you make sure all the dishes and kitchen items are run in our dishwasher prior to your departure.

    The Getawayz NSW team will leave ample dishwashing tablets for you to use. If we are running low, please advise us and we will replace these for the next guests.

    The instructions on how to use the dishwasher are below:

    • In order to turn on the dishwasher, simply open it up, and you will see a button on the left side labeled auto off. Simply press this button on.

    • On the right hand side there is a few buttons. To change the programs use the second button from the left and click until the screen displays your desired program selection.

    • Also Please note it has a self-drying function. At the conclusion of the cycle, the door will pop open and blow steam out. Do not be alarmed if this happens.

    On departure, we ask that you use “P4 30 Min” cycle. Our housekeeping & styling specialists will thank you for this!

  • Our kitchen comes with a Delonghi Nespresso Machine and a milk frother. Getawayz NSW will provide you with ample coffee pods throughout your stay. If you prefer milk coffee over black coffee, you will need to provide your own milk for your stay.

    On departure, if the coffee pods are running low, please advise us and we will make sure to replace these for the next guests.

    Please see the instructions on how to use the Nespresso Machine below:

    • Other than turning on the Nespresso Machine at the powerpoint, the first thing to do is make sure there is enough water in the machine to make your desired coffee.

    • First step is to make sure there is enough water in the plastic clear container behind the machine. The Nespresso Machine is located on the left side of the sink.

    • To insert the coffee pod/capsule (regular sizes) lift the lever at the top front of the machine.

    • There are two buttons on the Nespresso Machine. One for a shot of coffee (short black) and on the right, one for a long black. You can press either button to turn on the machine.

    • It will blink for 25 secs while it’s heating up and when lights are steady that means it’s ready!

  • Introducing our Tefal Easy Fry and Grill machine that will simplifies your cooking process with its user-friendly design.

    • To use, turn the lower knob to set the desired cooking time and the upper knob to adjust the temperature. With intuitive controls, this machine ensures your meals are perfectly grilled and fried to your preference every time.

other amenities

Our home is full of all the amenities that you, your friends family and your chosen family could ask for. Below we have listed the other amenities available for you and your family to use throughout your stay!

  • FAN

    Two of our three bedrooms are equipped with easy-to-operate fans controlled by a sleek white remote. To start the fan, simply press the top corner left button. Adjust the fan speed effortlessly using the left side buttons: press "+" to increase the speed or "-" to decrease it.

    But that's not all; our fans offer additional modes for your comfort. Explore the sleep mode for peaceful nights, clear mode for instant freshness, and whoosh mode for a gentle breeze.

  • WASHING MACHINE

    Our home comes with a front loader Ariston washing machine for you to use throughout your stay. Getawayz NSW will provide you with washing powder for you to use. Please see below how to operate the washing machine:

    Open the drawer located on the far left and insert the washing powder or detergent into the left tray and close.

    To power on the machine there is a power button beside the drawer. Simply press to turn the machine on/off.

    To chose from the programs simply twist the knob in the middle to your desired programs for washing.

    On the right hand side, you can see different options for the cycle you have selected, including wash temp, water level and spin speed.

    To start the cycle, simply press the start/pause button located at the far top right hand side.

  • Our Gas BBQ is located on the main level of our house just outside on the balcony area and is perfect for family entertaining.

    We provide a gas bottle which will be connected for you throughout your stay and there will be a spare located on the left side of the home if you need to switch this over.

    If you do replace the gas, please let Getawayz NSW know and we will make sure to change this over when you have departed.

    We ask if you use the BBQ, this must be cleaned prior to your departure. If this is not done, an additional $50 surcharge will be charged from the bond or claimed via the platform you have booked the home.

  • The fuse box at this property is located on the right-hand side of the garage door, on the wall in the patio area.

    If the power is not working, please check the fuses in the fuse box and flick all on if one of the fuses has blown or been switched off.””.

    If all the switches are on, this is most likely a local power outage.

    Unfortunately, there is nothing Getawayz NSW can do to rectify external power outages.

    We would recommend either:

    Using the Endevour Energy website to check for any known outages in the area.

    If there is not a local outage and you are still experiencing issues, please contact the Getawayz NSW on 0480 801 294. For any issues after 9pm, we will attend first thing in the morning, if power is not returned to the home.

  • We have provided spare light bulbs and batteries in the cupboard where the fuse box is located (please refer above to location for the fuse box).

    If you use any batteries or lightbulbs, can you let the team at Getawayz NSW know and we will replace these for the next changeover.

    On the odd occurrence we have run out of stock, Warriewood shopping centre is a 10 minute drive away. If you send Getawayz NSW the receipt, we will reimburse you for any purchases relating to batteries and lightbulbs.

  • Bins for our home are kept at the bottom of the driveway by the road. Please do not walk them up the driveway towards the home under any circumstances. The bins are located at the bottom of the driveway.

    The recycling bin is the yellow bin and red is for general rubbish. Please make sure you use the correct bins for the correct materials.

    If the bin instructions are not followed (including taking these out on the correct night - we will send you a reminder on the evening) there will be a $100 surcharge taken from the bond or the platform you have booked on.

  • Getawayz NSW has staff available 7 days a week, from 8am - 9pm.

    • Please email us at guests@getawayz.com.au for any enquiries during business hours.

    • Alternatively, you can contact us via your booking platform.

    • For issues during your stay, please call us on 0480 801 294.

    Any contact outside of business hours will be responded to from 8am onwards, the next day of business.

    Please note that we take all inquiries from guests very seriously, and do our best to respond in a timely manner.

Things to know

Nestled in a serene rural setting, our property offers unparalleled tranquility and breathtaking views. Perched atop a steep hill, it provides a vantage point to behold the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape.

  • If the water in our home isn't working, there can be an issue with the pump system. Please get in contact the Getawayz team if this happens.

    Water is tied to power, thus if there is no power in the house, the water will not function either. If this is the problem, please refer to the information above under the heading "other amenities" for the fuse box.

  • Our property boasts an elevated position atop a steep hill, offering commanding views of the surroundings. While the scenery is breathtaking, we urge caution when navigating the hill. It is essential to be vigilant, especially with children, ensuring they are supervised at all times. Safety is paramount, and we appreciate your cooperation in making your stay both enjoyable and secure.

  • To ensure your utmost comfort during your stay, we recommend bringing bug spray when visiting our property. Located in a damp area, we occasionally contend with mosquitoes.

    While we will supply bug spray for your convenience, we suggest bringing your preferred brand if you have specific allergies or sensitivities. Your well-being is our priority, and we want to make sure you have a relaxing and enjoyable time without any concerns about pesky insects.

  • For the well-being of our property, we kindly ask that you refrain from feeding the birds. While these feathered visitors are delightful, their feeding habits can lead to damage of our outside wooden balustrades.

    Your cooperation in this matter helps us maintain the property's charm and integrity, ensuring a pleasant environment for all. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

  • Indulge in the luxury of our home, complete with a dazzling gold bathtub that demands special attention and care. To preserve its allure, we kindly request your adherence to the following rules:

    • No Bath Bombs or Salt Products: Please refrain from using bath bombs or salt products in the gold bathtub. These products can tarnish its exquisite finish.

    • Eucalyptus Spray for Cleaning: For cleaning purposes, use only non-erosive eucalyptus spray. This gentle cleaner is specifically chosen to maintain the tub's elegance without causing any damage.
