A Hunter Valley Haven

Adventure in Cessnock, Hunter Valley, NSW, AU

From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the luxurious yet inviting atmosphere of this completely renovated haven. Every detail, from the designer touches to the spacious layout, exceeded our expectations.

During our stay, we explored the nearby vineyards and indulged in tastings of the finest wines Hunter Valley has to offer. However, what truly made our getaway memorable were the evenings spent at the cottage. Gathered around the outdoor pizza oven and BBQ on the back deck, we shared laughter, stories, and delicious wood-fired pizzas under the starlit sky. The mini golf in the backyard, gorgeous fire pit area and outdoor bathtub were particular favouties. It was a moment of pure bliss that we'll cherish forever!!

If you're looking for a retreat that combines luxury, tranquility, and unforgettable experiences, I highly recommend staying at Maggie's Black Cottage Retreat. THINGS WE DID

Petersons Winery

Let me tell you about the amazing time we had at Petersons Wines in the Hunter Valley! From the moment we walked in, we felt like part of the family. Learning about their history, dating back to 1971 when Colin Peterson and his parents started the winery, added a whole new layer to our wine tasting experience.

Best Cider in NSW at Cider House

The views at Pokolbin Cider House were absolutely stunning, and paired with their incredible ciders, it was an experience we won't soon forget. Picture this: sitting among the vineyards of the Hunter Valley, sipping on delicious cider, and soaking in the beauty of the landscape—it was like something out of a dream! From the classic apple cider to the more unique flavors like grape and spiced, each sip was a delightful surprise. We left with hearts full of gratitude and a strong desire to come back for more. Trust me, if you're ever in the area, you won't want to miss out on this gem!

WHERE OUR ADVENTURE STARTED

Savannahs Wines Escape

What truly sets Savannah Estate apart is not just their expertise, but also their attitude. The staff weren't just wine connoisseurs; they were genuinely warm and welcoming people who contributed to a culture of positivity and fun. It felt like we were part of the family from the moment we walked in.

Best Breakfast in Hunter

You won't believe the incredible scenery we soaked in at The Deck Cafe in Lovedale! Picture this: sitting on the deck, overlooking this tranquil dam surrounded by lush forest—it was like something out of a postcard. And the food? Oh man, it was next level! From the breakfast spread to the tapas menu at lunch and dinner, every dish was a flavor explosion. Seriously, I couldn't get enough! Plus, they had this awesome selection of drinks, including Gartelmann wines and some top-notch coffee. It was one of those experiences that just sticks with you, you know? If you ever find yourself in the area, you've gotta check it out!
